A UNIQUE DESTINATION WORLDWIDE

Not only an ideal place in which to establish an economic activity, but a marvellous destination to visit and live in peace and safety, where the commitment to environmental protection enhances the territory’s natural and cultural heritage.

Every moment is perfect to discover San Marino history, admire its nature, appreciate its crafts and food and wine culture. Getting lost in the alleys of the various historic centres becomes a magical moment of beauty and wellbeing.

SAN MARINO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

Since July 2008, Mount Titano and the Historic Centre of San Marino have been included in the prestigious list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites as “testimony of the establishment of a representative democracy based on civic autonomy and self-governance, with a unique uninterrupted continuity as the capital of an independent Republic since the 13th century.” Indeed, the oldest republic in the world has been able to maintain its values of authenticity and identity.

The strongly rooted sense of welcome and a renewed culture of hospitality ‘without barriers’ facilitate an all-round tourist experience. San Marino is an ideal destination for those in search of a safe and comfortable destination, rich in breathtaking landscapes.

A STROLL THROUGH HISTORY

San Marino boasts numerous monuments and museums that are of considerable cultural importance and narrate the Republic’s history and art. The ancient towers, historical buildings, various museums and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art welcome millions of visitors every year.

Equally rich is the cultural scene, with a full agenda of events in a unique setting: music festivals, historical re-enactments, exhibitions, sporting events, international competitions and institutional ceremonies, first and foremost the Investiture Ceremony of the Their Excellencies the Captains Regent every 1 April and 1 October.

SPORTS FOR ALL TASTES

San Marino offers an extensive network of sports facilities suitable to a wide range of disciplines: athletics, baseball, football, motocross, swimming, aviation, golf and much more.

Only the strength of a small state turns sporting activity into a national event. Every period of the year is full of unique appointments and major sporting events such as Rally Legend, the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini MotoGP Grand Prix and International Tennis Championships.

In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, San Marino won three medals. San Marino thus became the least populated independent State to have won an Olympic medal.
