Among the appointments on the agenda of the mission of EDA-CC, accompanying the Minister of Industry and Handicraft, Fabio Righi, particularly significant was the one with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, during which a collaboration agreement was signed. The Memorandum, which stems from the desire to promote trade, economic and investment relations between the respective business and professional communities, is a first step towards creating new opportunities for both parties. It is an important reference framework, underlines Minister Fabio Righi, which will facilitate our companies to access or strengthen their presence in the Emirates market, a fundamental market, which today represents a large part of world business. This is a further step forward in the work already underway to build structured and secure paths, so that San Marino entrepreneurs can have new and important opportunities for growth.
Recalling the importance of the Double Taxation Agreement between the two Countries, which came into force in 2020, the Director General of the Economic Development Agency – Chamber of Commerce, Denis Cecchetti, highlighted the fact that there are already many San Marino companies that carry out import-export activities with the Emirates market, in segments such as nutraceuticals, cosmetics, machinery, furniture and many others. Particular attention is also paid by the Emirati world to the San Marino Aircraft Register.
As specified in the agreement, efforts will focus on promoting activities that can foster innovation, investment, tourism and agriculture.
H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers described the agreement as an important development that would strengthen Dubai’s trade ties with Italic peninsula and assist companies in San Marino to explore the Dubai market.
He added that Dubai Chamber of Commerce would work closely with the Economic Development Agency – Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of San Marino to identify bilateral business opportunities and create new channels of growth for their respective members.
